Civil Aviation certifies Pawa as Dominican flagship carrier

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) director Alejandro Herrera on Thursday announced that the carrier Pawa Dominicana has been certified to operate as Dominican Republic’s flagship airline.

He said the airline will ply several routes in the region from domestic airports.

In an inspection visit by technicians, the head of IDAC said the airline is certified for operating soon .

"This is the most palpable fact resulting from the amended Civil Aviation Law…, which facilitates the opening of foreign investment in the aeronautics business," Herrera said during the inspection of aircraft at Las Americas International Airport.

Te technicians certified Dominican Pawa’s DC-9 and MD-8 aircraft are ready to fly to the various destinations.
