Dominican capital kicks off annual Book Fair

Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina headed the inaugural for the 18th annual International Book Fair Santo Domingo 2015 at the National Theatre Thursday night, dedicated to Dominican writer Manuel Rueda and Peru as invited country.

The around 15 pavilions in fair taking place at the Plaza de la Cultura showcase Dominican Writers, Youth Space, Book Kitchen, Literary Workshop, Action and Dominican Communication.

Around RD$ 4.5 million in bonds will also be distributed to buy books.

The motto for this year’s fair, "Reading reinvents you" highlights the importance of reading to develop awareness of human beings in a globalized world.
