Santo Domingo.– Political scientist and consultant Belarminio Ramirez said that President Danilo Medina has the popularity and the numbers to ensure the triumph of the ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) over the PRM presidential candidate Luis Abinader in the 2016 elections.
Ramirez warned that if the PLD candidacy lies in the hands of another person, other than Danilo Medina, "the political scene is in danger and it sure will be a run-off election."
"If Danilo Medina becomes PLD’s presidential candidate, we can go out and celebrate the triumph, and the campaign is already there, for Danilo has the sympathy of 60% of the undecided voters, a feat never seen before in the history of the Dominican electoral market," he pointed out.
