Drivers who terrorized school kids off to jail until trial

Santo Domingo.- Santo Domingo province Permanent Attention Court on Wednesday ruled three months of pretrial incarceration at la Victoria Prison for 11 bus drivers charged with threatening to torch a school bus with 50 children inside, during an incident in the resort town Boca Chica.

Judge Melania Cruz ruled for the prosecution’s request for incarceration and against the challenge filed by the drivers’ lawyers against the Office of the Prosecutor.

The judge however ordered a 65 year-old driver’s release on health reasons.

The defendants Eduardo Salvador Fersola Güilamo, Francisco Tejeda Marte, Josué Castillo Santana, Félix Manuel Merán García, Luis Pineda Castillo, Daniel Bautista Espinal, Franklin De León, Rafael Poleón Féliz, Alfredo Sención Rosado, Juan Carlos Javier Aquino, Yoryi Luisa and Luis Rafael Castillo Luis will spend three months in prison to await trial.
