British Chamber Golf Cup set for May 16 at Casa de Campo

Santo Domingo.- The British Chamber of Commerce on Thursday announced the 17th annual Traditional British Golf Cup on 16 May at Teeth of the Dog links in Casa de Campo, La Romana (east).

UK ambassador Steven Fisher will head the competition among professional golfers, said Chamber president Jose A. Rodriguez, who noted that the event is a great accomplishment which marks 17 years since its first edition in 1998. “The tournament has become a tradition in Dominican golf and also serves to share and strengthen business relationships in a cheerful, relaxed ambience and camaraderie.

BRITCHAM executive director Francesca Ortiz said this year’s prizes include a Ford Escape for a hole-in-one courtesy of Viamar Group, and as tradition, a replica of the famous British Open Golf Cup, the Claret Jug for best gross score of the tournament.

She thanked the sponsors tournament especially V Energy with the brand Shell, which since the first version was the main sponsor, in addition to Lantica Media, Costasur Casa de Campo, Banco del Progreso, Dominican National Brewery, Brugal, Ege-Haina, Banco Popular Dominicano, Funeraria Blandino, Cobro Energia, Elecnor, Gerdau-Metaldom and Orange.
