April prices fall -0.25%, paced by foods

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Central Bank said prices in April fell -0.25% compared with March last year, paced by foods and non-alcoholic beverages.

It said first quarter inflation stood at -0.09%.

The Central Bank said inflation over the last 12 months, from April 2014 to April 2015 was -0.04%, “significantly lower than the inflation of 3.49% recorded at the end of April last year.”

It said lower prices on foods and non-alcoholic beverages in April paced the negative inflation.
