Peace Corps hosts annual young entrepreneurs contest

Santo Domingo.- The Peace Corps in the Dominican Republic hosted its 9th ‘Build Your Dreams’ contest for young entrepreneurs, held in the Juan Pablo II retreat.

The 3-day event was attended by over 65 young people from 26 communities around the country who were finalists who presented their business plans to a panel of judges from the local business community to compete for tone of three RD$50,000 prizes donated by Banco Popular, IMCA and Dominican Watchman, to start their own business.

This year 221 young people from 26 communities participated in the Build Your Dreams initiative to learn about techniques needed to develop as small entrepreneurs. The annual competition was held in conjunction with the company Mondelez International, with the collaboration of the Dominican Development Foundation and Junior Achievement Dominicana.
