Officials scramble as bloodletting in Moca continues

Moca, Dominican Republic.- Justice minister Francisco Dominguez and Espaillat province (north) judicial and police officials are meeting to discuss the spate of violent crimes gripping the city, where more than 20 homicides have been reported in just three months.

North Region Police commanders Hector Garcia, governor Diloné Ovalles, prosecutor Aníbal Carela, senator Jose Rafael Vargas and business leaders also attend the meeting at the Estancia Nueva sector.

More than one dozen murders have been perpetrated in Moca’s streets during the last two months, including three women by a man identified as Thomas Rafael Sosa around 5am Thursday.
