Agencies announce relaunch of Colonial Zone’s icon street

Santo Domingo.- The Tourism Development Program of Santo Domingo’s Colonial City (PFTCCSD) and the Calle El Conde Merchants Association (ASOCONDE) on Monday said they’ll coordinate and design a market study and a plan to relaunch El Conde Street’s identity.

They said the program is designed to improve the management of the Colonial Zone’s icon street, its commercial offer and space conditions.

In a press conference, local tourism program coordinator Carla Quiñones said the plan aims to boost the Zone’s sales and commerce to benefit merchants with increased tourism. “ASOCONDE is committed to lead a number of important changes in vision and business management, including election of new directors and the definition of a new work plan.”

The two organizations announced the hiring of the company Taller Creativo to develop a new brand with a simple, modern and elegant image that stresses the commercial thoroughfare’s "vintage" character which symbolizes its peculiar style.
