Statement on Dominican Republic-Haiti row ‘distorted: OAS chief

Santo Domingo.- OAS secretary general Luis Almagro said Friday that his statements about the Dominican Republic and Haiti have been “distorted,” and said what he’s done is call for talks between Port-au-Prince and Santo Domingo.

"I called for a dialogue by two countries that share an island Dominican Republic and Haiti. A different interpretation is distortion,” Almagro tweeted just hours after the Dominican Govt. railed against the statement and discarding attending the talks initially planned for next week in Washington.

In that regard the Organization of American States also posted the video of when Almagro referred to the two countries’ immigration “crisis.”
