Wary Dominican Republic awaits OAS report on aliens

Santo Domingo.- Organization of American States (OAS) secretarygeneral Luis Almagro on Tuesday said the report of its delegation which observedthe government´s program to regularize mostly Haitian aliens in the DominicanRepublic will be released tomorrow.

He said the report´s recommendationswill also be presented to the OAS Permanent Council.

Almagro, who tweetedthe announcement on the release of the report, was the target of scathing rebukedby Dominicans after a confusing gaff that ¨there cannot be two countries in Hispaniola.”
