Dominican athletes arrive for Special Olympics at Los Angeles

Los Angeles.- Nearly 50 "special" Dominican athletes and team officials have arrived for the Special Olympic World Games in Los Angeles 2015 starting Saturday.?

Mike del Rey, Dominican Today correspondent-at-large for the US West Coast is covering the event which gathers athletes around the globe for the largest sporting event on earth.

The first group of athletes were greeted upon their arrival in Los Angeles by officials of the Dominican Consulate General at Los Angeles, while the Dominican softball team is expected to do so today Friday.

During nine days the Dominican athletics will compete in the sports of aquatics, basketball, softball and triathlon against more than 6,500 rivals from 165 countries present for the largest sporting event on earth.
