Hilton to build US$14.0M hotel in Dominican capital

Santo Domingo.- The tourism project Homewood Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo will be built at a cost of RD$630 million (US$14.0 million), adding 120 new rooms to the Dominican capital and will create more than 75 direct and 200 indirect jobs.

Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD) director Jean Alain Rodriguez made the announcement at a press conference Thursday, after meeting with president Danilo Medina in the National Palace, accompanied by Hilton Worldwide chain Dominican Republic director Hector Concari.

National Business Council (Conep) president Rafael Blanco and DVT Management director Jorge Volcan, among other were also present in the meeting, where Rodriguez stressed the importance that chains like Hilton reaffirm their confidence investing in Dominican Republic’s lodging sector.
