PLD-PRD alliance strengthens Dominican democracy, deputy says

Santo Domingo.– Opposition PRD deputy Carlos Gabriel Garcia said the PLD-PRD alliance guarantees a government of broad social basis, allowing it to promote the changes and transformations most Dominican crave in order to improve people’s life quality.

He said that President Danilo Medina’s popularity, combined with the political platform provided by the alliance of the two political parties founded by professor Juan Bosch, can predict a landslide victory in the polls on May 15 presidential elections.

Speaking during a meeting with PRD leaders in Villa Duarte, the PRD legislator said that the proposal made by Danilo Medina for the creation of a shared national unity government "was creative, timely and of high historical content."
