Santo Domingo.- Numerousinstitutions, organizations and government officials on Sunday on Sunday marked the 152ndanniversary of the Restoration of Independence with various events across thecountry and abroad.
In one of the events,hosted by the Constitutional Court, the heroic deeds of the Restoration werehighlighted, reiterating the example set by the heroes of the revolt headed bygeneral Gregorio Luperon.
“Their example shouldbe more present than ever, said president Constitutional Court chief justiceMilton Ray Guevara.”The Dominican Republic will be preserved forever with thestrength, will, firmness and patriotism of the Dominicans.”
"There is nodoubt that the Restoration was a social and political war of nationalliberation and the message of those heroes remains more present than ever.”
