Santo Domingo.- Depressed athaving deceived her mother by becoming pregnant, a 17-year old woman jumped from street level onto the road on the 27 deFebrero and Máximo Gómez underpass.
Fortunately,she survived the attempt.
EstefanyMaría Báez, a social communications student, had called her mother, Fidelia Pérez, before jumping onto the road.
“Shesaid: ‘mommy, forgive me’”, said her mother.
Theyoung woman, who was five months pregnant, was carrying a note in which shedescribed the reasons for her decision.
A911 unit came to her rescue and took her to the Nuestra Señora de la Altagraciamaternity hospital, suffering from multiple injuries.
