Dominican women win second medal at World Volleyball

Santo Domingo.- DominicanRepublic won the bronze medal at the FIFA U-23 Women’s Volleyball 2015, defeatingJapan 3-2 in spectacular fashion (21-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-16, 15-11) in the tournamentheld in Ankara, Turkey.

The win gives Dominicanits second medal for after its second place in 2013.

Yonkaira Peña´s 23 points led the offensive attack followed byBrayelin Elizabeth Martinez´ 22 points. The Dominican women took the advantagein blocking (17-4) and serves (10-8). –

For Japan, YukaImamura led with 17 points.
