A 4.1 qake jolts northeast Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- A 4.1 magnitude quake was registered1:31amThursday with an epicenter 9 kilometers west of Samana (northeast), with no reporteddamaged thus far.

The Santo Domingo State University (UASD) SeismologyInstitute said the tremor was 57 kilometers in depth, and was felt by thepopulation in that region.

The quake was also within 17 kilometers of Sabana deLa Mar, 19 kilometers from Sanchez, 48 kilometers from Nagua and 98 kilometersfrom Santo Domingo.
