Dominican grandma wins a ticket to see the Pope

New York.- Dominican-born Carmen Esteras, a grandmotherwho´s lived in the Bronx 26 years, caretaker of the elderly, with an injured kneeand a staunch Catholic, was the lucky winner of the raffle for a ticket to see PopeFrancis during his visit to the US Congress.

Senator CharlesSchumer (Dem.-NY) had previously distributed 100 tickets, including scores tothousands of Catholics wanting to see the Pope, and upon receiving an extraticket, decided to raffle it among the thousands of New Yorkers.

Esteras, 46, will be insidethe Capitol in Washington DC, and will see the pontiff close by when he speaksto a joint session of the US Congress.
