Dominican women volleyball team brings home the gold

Santo Domingo.- Thewomen’s national Sub-20 volleyball team arrived Sunday to a cheering crowd at LasAmericas International Airport, on winning the gold medal Saturday undefeated intheir category in the championship held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"I feel veryproud and happy because we brought this gold my country and I knew that goldwas ours. I feel good because it’s my last event in the junior category," saidBrayelin Martinez, most valuable player, said:

Martinez said theynever lost their drive even when the Dominicans were down 12-14 on the set, in thegame against Brazil for the World gold medal.

For Natalia Martinez,who scored the winning point, “it´s very special, that was great, a historicfirst place which leaves me speechless."
