PGA Magazine chief coming for DR Golf Travel Exchange

Santo Domingo.- Thepresident of the prestigious PGA Magazine will speak at the seminar "Thegolf industry in Dominican Republic," as part of the activities of the DominicanRepublic Golf Travel Exchange 2015, at La Romana and Bavaro from Sept. 5 to 10.

Rick Summers, who alsochairs the Great Golf Resorts of the World (GGRW), said his participation will focuson the main marketing strategies that have impacted golf around the world andhave boosted the development of golf tourism in various destinations. “I´m verypleased to visit Dominican Republic and above all, to participate in theDominican Republic Golf Travel Exchange, the most important Caribbean golf event."

Summers, who togetherwith golf legend Jack Nicklaus founded GGRW in 1988 and bought his stake in2004, when it became the publisher of PGA Magazine.

He is also the editorialand business consultant of Fore magazine, published by the Southern CaliforniaGolf Association and the Golf Range Association of America, in addition to managingnumerous golf projects.

The Dominican RepublicGolf Travel Exchange second edition aims to “strengthen tourism offer coursesin the country and will be attended by directors of the InternationalAssociation of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), hoteliers and directors of various coursesand receptive operators in the country.”

It adds that Tourism Ministryofficials and executives from the Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf), amongothers, will also take part in the event.
