Government hosts talks to set trade policy to 2020

Santo Domingo.- Industryand Commerce Ministry Foreign Trade (DICOEX) director Katrina Naut on Thursday saidthe government is holding consultations aimed at defining Dominican Republic´s tradepolicy for the 2016-2020 period.

In that regard, Industryand Commerce minister Jose del Castillo said the work is developed jointly withthe United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), aimed atachieving the Millennium Development Goals with capacity-building to formulateand enact the country´s trade policies.

Naut, who´s in chargeof developing the effort, said during two days public and private sector representativesdiscussed national competitiveness, industry and trade and management programs,in addition to the use of free trade agreements signed by the country, as partof the process to define the country´s trade policy during the next four years.
