Northeast road rebuild advances, a boost for tourism

Miches, Dominican Republic.-Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo on Tuesday toured the Miches-Sabana de laMar highway, to inspect the progress on the road project by contractor Odebrecht.

In a statement PublicWorks said the official lauded the quality and pace of the construction work,to contribute to the tourism region´s development by linking it to farms and livestockareas, improve health, create direct jobs and collaborate with the environment.

Castillo also touredthe Malecon at Miches, which is being rebuilt with new gardens, a sports, educationaland cultural support center, and a boardwalk area as an attractive spot for thepeople of the town to enjoy nature.
