Puerto Plata forum projects US$100.0M investments

Puerto Plata,Dominican Republic.- The Puerto Plata Investment Forum projects a RD$4.5 billion(US$100 million) investment in construction and development projects in theprovince during the next two years, Dominican Republic Export and Investment Center(CEI-RD) director Jean Alain Rodriguez revealed Wednesday.

The official representedthe government in the second edition of "Invest in DR" in PuertoPlata held September 17, where the north region´s investment opportunities wereshowcased for over 300 foreign and local investors from around 28 countries.

He said "Investin DR" resulted in investment opportunities in excess of more than RD$4.5billion in Puerto Plata, where the projects could create as many as 2,495direct jobs.

Rodriguez said theevent attracted more than 450 participants who received first hand information from31 panelists through five sessions, highlighting the north region´s advantages fortourism, manufacturing and services and infrastructure, including transport andlogistics."
