Medina to talk poverty at UN; Pope to tackle climate change

Santo Domingo.- PresidentDanilo Medina will participate in the UN´s 70th General Assembly on September25, which Pope Francis will attend for the first time.

Presidency Administrativeminister Jose Ramon Peralta made the announcement Monday, noting that Medina isslated to be in New York City on Oct. 24, to be present for the pontiff´sspeech at the UN.

Peralta said the UNis very interested in the country´s projects and programs to fight poverty andtheir results, adding that the Pope´s presentation is expected to focus onclimate change.
