US Embassy Puerto Rican Nights kick off Latino Fest

Santo Domingo.- Aspart of the Hispanic Heritage Month events the US Embassy on Friday sponsoredthe "Noche Puertoriqueña” (Puerto Rican Nightd) at the XI InternationalFestival of Contemporary Dance (Edanco 2015) .

This evening of dancefeatured performances by 28 dancers of the Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico,Andanza and dance company Coda 21.

To start the event USambassador James W. Brewster thanked Edanco Festival director Edmundo Poy, ofthe Ministry of Culture and the board of the Palace of Fine Arts.

"While beingproud of famous Latinos, we will recognize the contributions of Hispanic menand women every day and who also strengthen the fabric of the United States.For example, parents who work hard every day to provide a better life for theirchildren. The young man or woman who served honorably in our armed forces. Theentrepreneur starting a successful business. We honor the manyDominican-Americans and all Latinos who have worked hard and have achievedsuccess in our country," the Ambassador said.
