Former Dominican president rules out running for senator

Santo Domingo.- Former Dominican President Hipolito Mejia has ruled out running for senator for Santiago, after stating that he does not have the temper to be a legislator.

According to El Nuevo Diario, Mejia reaffirmed, however, his decision to support both the candidate for senator in El Cibao (center) and the PRM’s presidential candidate Luis Abinader.

Mejia confessed not to have the temper to be a legislator, even though in 1982 he accepted the nomination following the request of Jose Francisco Pena Gomez and Dominican president Antonio Guzman.
