Higuey, Dominican Republic.- Anightclub in eastern La Altagracia province in which 31 women were found allegedlyrecruited for prostitution, was shuttered by the Specialized Prosecutor for peopletrafficking.
The women known as"bunnies" were found in the club Ladies Factory located on theVeron-Bavaro area of Punta Cana, where nightclub owner Lorenzo Areche wasarrested together with his employees.
According to the Office of theProsecutor, Areche was promoting the Dominican Republic abroad as a sexualdestination, even on billboards placed at several locations in the province.
It said objects associated with prostitutionand large amounts of dollars and pesos were seized during the raid.
