Mexico crowned Caribbean Baseball champs unbeaten

Santo Domingo.- A spectacular bottom of the 9th homerunby Jorge ‘Chato’ Vazquez kept Mexico unbeaten to win the 2016 Caribbean BaseballSeries over Venezuela 5 to 4, in a game played in Quisqueya stadium Sunday.

Mexico’s Venados of Mazatlan were tied at four runs sincethe fourth inning with Venezuela’s Tigers of Aragua, when Vazquez hit a curve ona two ball-no-strike count by reliever Renee Cortez to walk off the diamond.

The win went to reliever Steven Hensley who closed thefinal out of the eighth inning with a runner on second base, as Mexico went undefeatedto obtain the Caribbean crown to.
