Santo Domingo.- Leonardo Boff has been known as one of thefounders of liberation theology for decades.

However, today the theologian, philosopher, priest, writerand Brazilian ecologist works to preserve natural resources, encouraging theethics of ecology.

"There are values ??like respect that makes you treatit as my Mother Earth, values ??of cooperation in all government echelons, communities, municipalities, provinces, so that together carry forward new wayto find an effective and sustainable development," said Boff, interviewedby the Corripio media group.

As part of the project’s contribution more than one millionpeople were trained in environmental issues in Brazil and trained 1,600teachers to spread the message of education of environmental care.

Bond with nature

Boff said there must be an awareness of the relationship onehas with the land, which provides everything a human being needs to survive, just as it would for future generations. “This is not an economic relationship, and instead it is taking care of the common house of us all: the Earth.”

He noted that the vision of sustainable support with ahuman face is sowing values ??and the principle to maintain the Earth’s integrity, and also believes that every human forms part of the cosmos.
