US Embassy, Robinson Cano Foundation host Jackie Robinson Movie Night

San Pedro de Macoris, DominicanRepublic.- To mark Black History Month, the US Embassy, Major LeagueBaseball (MLB), the San Pedro de Macoris Baseball Association, the Robinson CanoFoundation and the government Film Office on Saturday hosted the "JackieRobinson Movie Night," with the screening a movie about the baseball legend’slife and achievements.

More than 300 little leaguers from San Pedro de Macorisparticipated in the activity, which included trivia about Jackie Robinson and conversationswith Seattle Mariners slugger Robinson Cano.

Attending the event held at Astin Jacobo Baseball Academy wereUS Embassy deputy chief ??Patrick Dunn; Sports minister Jaime David Fernandez; MLBSpecialist in Education and Community Outreach, Neskys Liriano, among otherpersonalities.

Since 2011 the United States Embassy is working withRobinson Cano Foundation and other local institutions to celebrate BlackHistory Month with various cultural activities.
