Foreign minister, Brewster talk Haiti situation in Palace meeting

Santo Domingo.- Foreign ministerAndrés Navarro, US ambassador James W. Brewster, Presidency chief of staffGustavo Montalvo and US envoy to Haiti, Peter M. Mulrean met in the NationalPalace on Thursday, as part of an effort to spur Dominican Republic-Haiti talks.

Navarro called it "a veryspecial work meeting," noting that it’s the first with the US envoys for bothHispaniola nations.

Navarro said discussed in themeeting was an agenda of interest to Washington and Santo Domingo.

The talks also included the politicalprocess in Haiti, where an interim government was appointed last month.

Before this meeting, ForeignMinister participated in the Bureau of Coordination of InternationalCooperation on Climate Change and Development Mechanism, where, despite theinsistence of journalists, refused to talk about the criticism the ambassador.
