Customs Agency launches new website

Santo Domingo.- Customs Director Fernando Fernandez onTuesday launched a new website, developed under best national and internationalcommercial practices, with statistics and analysis related to business, tradeand public activities the Dominican Republic.

"The companies that don’t delve into technologies andput them within reach of their members take a step backward, and we need tomove forward to consolidate a country’s management based on informationtechnology,” the official said.

Fernandez said Customs’ modern website gives all businesssectors in the country, institutions and the general public, the ability toaccess public information and government services "from any place, timeand various media."

"The country’s expectations of competitiveness ofeconomic events, and the achievement of a higher level of development, are basedon accomplishing institutional strength," Fernandez said in a statement.
