Medina cuts ribbon on RD$1.4B East region hospital

Higüey, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Sundaycut the ribbon for the new Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia Regional Hospital inthe province of the same name, built ata cost of RD$1.4 billion, and will benefitthousands of poor families of the eastern region.

"The people of Higuey get a new hospital, a promised work,with architectural quality and equipped with the latest technology," said StateSupervisory Engineers Office (OISOE) director Francisco Pagán, accompanied bylawmakers, city officials, and religious leaders.

Pagan said public health has progressed during Medina’sadministration, "achieving the necessary changes in our tired old hospitalstructures, a change for the newest and most modern, up to the needs of modernmedicine, the most advanced technologies in medical science."
