Medina cuts ribbon on 29Km road in the Central Mountains

San José de Ocoa, DominicanRepublic.- President Danilo Medina headed ribbon cutting Wednesday on the PiedraBlanca-Juan Adrian-Rancho Arriba-San José de Ocoa road that spans 29 kilometers.

He also inaugurated the Municipal Building at Juan Adrian andthe Fine Arts Palace in Bonao, Monseñor Noel province (central).

The road is the second of three which starts at Duartehighway and span the Central Mountains, and link to the north Cibao region withthe South.

The two lane road is designed for a maximum speed of 60 kphand features a third lane at steep areas to avert backups from heavy vehiclles.

Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo said the workincluded 120 culverts for drainage systems and 32 embankments and bridges. “Theroad benefits producers in the area and boosts the economy.”
