Santiago associations plant mahogany trees to mark historic battle

Santo Domingo.- Several associations recently hosted a dayof reforestation to mark the Battle of March 30, in which 1,100 mahogany trees wereplanted along the coast from Alto del Rey to Santiago’s Jacagua River bridge.

The event was coordinated in conjunction with the BotanicalGarden Committee and Scouts Troop 33, attended by 42 people from the consortiumOdebrecht-Estrella, COINSA and the Public Works Ministry.

During the event the new Santiago Botanical Garden Park ProfessorEugenio de Jesus Marcano Project was presented to participants, in addition tohands-on training on how to plant trees.
