Gov. yanks retired general’s pilot’s license for buzzing National Palace

Santo Domingo .- The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute(IDAC) on Tuesday announced the suspensionof the pilot’s license of retired general Rafael Percival Peña, for overflying therestricted zone of the National Palace, “in clear violation of aviation rulesand national laws.”

The IDAC said Peña violated aviation laws by flying over a restrictedairspace in a “deliberate and avowed electoral purpose.”

The IDAC’s statement issued late Tuesday responded to mediarequests for a reaction by the national aviation agency.
