Flash flood warnings issued on approaching downpours

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Mondayissued flash flood alerts for 14 eastern provinces, on forecasts of increasedrainfall and thunderstorms over much of the country tomorrow Tuesday.

It said trough will bring heavy downpours for San José deOcoa, Azua, San Cristobal, Santo Domingo and the National District.

It also issued severe weather alerts for the provinces of Pedernales,Barahona, San Juan de la Maguana, Peravia, Bahoruco, Monte Plata, LaAltagracia, La Romana and San Pedro de Macoris.
