Camilo poised to be first ever Dominican archer in Olympics

Medellin.- The Dominican Republic has the chance to sendits first ever archer to the Olympic Games in Rio, after Yessica Camilo upsetCuba’s Elizabeth Rodriguez in a shoot-off.

Worldarchery.org reports that the quarterfinal match,between 12th seed Camilo and fourth-ranked Rodriguez, decided which of the twonations took the third women’s place available in Medellin, Colombia.

“We have never been to the Olympics before so this is justamazing,” said Camilo, who shot an eight with her tiebreaker arrow before heropponent put down a seven.
