Medina resumes suprise visits

San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic.- President Danilo Medina on Sunday resumedthe surprise visits after last week’s elections, this time to farmers inwestern San Juan province, where he announced financing for harvests and cropsto improve their income.

In his visitto several rural settlements the Head of State announced the start of constructionon the road from San Juan to the village of Mogollon and promised that the titlingof lands in that area will start soon.

He alsoinstructed the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) to provide pumps to irrigatecrops of corn, sweet potato, cassava and pigeon peas, and announced theconstruction of country roads to help farmers take their harvests to market.
