Repo man snatches former LA Dodgers slugger’s SUV

Santo Domingo.- Embattled San Cristobal mayor and former LADodgers slugger Raul Mondesi, who was questioned Tuesday morning for alleged irregularitiesin the city council, couldn’t go home in his vehicle, snatched by repo man sentby a dealer.

Local media report that Mondesi’s Lexus SUV 2016, which wasparked outside the Justice Ministry’s Anticorruption Office, was taken by arepo man of the dealer César Motors.

Judicial security police told a visibly upset Mondesí thata tow truck of the Metropolitan Transit Authority (Amet) had taken his vehicle,and was forced to hitch a ride to San Cristobal, was accompanied by his son andsecurity guards.

Before being questioned by a prosecutor Tuesday morning onalleged embezzlement, the retired Major Leaguer said he has properties worth morethan RD$600 million (US$13 million).
