US envoy, Dominican Catholic Church row turns ‘loony’

Santo Domingo.- Washington’s ‘loony bird’ ambassador “actioned”against Dominican Republic’s ruling party (PLD) in the past elections, showing apreference for opposition candidate Luis Abinader in several meetings.

The allegation Insurance on Thursday against James W.Brewster is from senior PLD leader Euclides Gutiérrez, a member of the party’stop echelon, the Political Committee.

"Here’s a representative of the President of theUnited States, whom I don’t mention his name, came out and had lunch with thecandidate of the opposition, with his husband," said the also Superintendentof.

He said Brewster and his husband Bob Satawake took part in themeeting with Abinader, which in his view was a lack of consideration toward thepeople and to Dominican women. "Everyone here knows that individualexpressed a position against the PLD"

Gutierrez, who called Satawake’s demand of an apology from theCatholic Church "presumptuous," said however that it should be up to cardinalNicolas de Jesus Lopez Rodriguez to "respond to the ambassador’s husband,with the same language as mine, because he does know how to respond well."

He said Washington’s envoy has no knowledge about the foreignpolicy of his nation, which “has no allies or enemies, only interests."

The official said Brewster will be leaving the country, butdidn’t specify a date or the source of the information.

"The ambassador from the United States will already beleaving the country’," the official said, interviewed on ColorvisionChannel 9. The historian and writer added that Brewster is a "pajaro loco" (loony bird).
