Agencies set dam levels to hurricane season rules

Santo Domingo.- The National Water Observatory on Wednesdaysaid the dams’ current levels are set according to the rules of the hurricaneseason and pose no danger downstream populations.

It said the dams can handle the rains expected in thecoming days resulting from the arrival of tropical waves, troughs or frontalsystems.

In that regard the dams and canals agency (Indrhi) said itworks with emergency institutions, to cover eventualities which require itsintervention.

It said despite the record heavy rains this year, allreservoirs are able to store the water forecast in weather reports.
