The country’s first day without a Police ‘chief’

Santo Domingo.- Interior and Police minister Jose RamonFadul on Tuesday headed the Superior PoliceCouncil’s first meeting, just three days after president Danilo Medina signed thenew National Police Statutory Law.

Justice minister Francisco Dominguez; and now NationalPolice director general Nelson Peguero also attended the meeting, in additionto the directors of Prevention, Internal Affairs, Investigation, and the Legal departments.

A summary of the National Police Statutory Law was discussed,and a permanent monitoring committee was appointed to implement it, during themeeting held at Police headquarters
