Dominican-born lawmaker to speak at the Democratic Convention

Santo Domingo.- New York State senator Adriano Espaillat onMonday said he’ll be one of the speakers in today’s start of the DemocraticNational Convention, in support of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

"I’m excited to participate in the Convention at 6pm tonight,”Espaillat tweeted.

The NY state senator said his speech will have a messageabout Hispanics and immigration, "it’s about building bridges, not walls."

Espaillat is one of the state senators announced theirofficial support to Hillary Clinton during the American process.

The Dominican-born lawmaker is expected to take over the Houseseat vacated by Charles Rangel, given the strongly Hispanic and mostly democrat-voter population in UpperManhattan, especially Washington Heights.
