Country can benefit from daylight savings time: Official

Santo Domingo.- Public Administration minister RamonVentura on Monday said the country can harness sunlight by setting the clocksback one hour during the summer work schedule, which would help cut electricityuse as developed nations do, since daylight arrives much earlier and lastslonger.

He said the measure is important because it contributes todecrease spending on fuel. He said various sectors are making the same suggestion.

Ventura said the idea behind ??establish a summer schedule isto harness the sun’s energy even further. H

The official said the change would mean that what’s now 7pmwould be 6pm, adding that it’s summer resource which should be used.
