Blast rocks oil refinery, fire aunder control, fuel dispatch continues

Santo Domingo.- An explosion rocked a part of the oil refineryin Haina (south) where a fired ensued Wednesday afternoon, while an image byfirst responders Emergencia_RD shows theflames affect one of the machines apparently connected to a smokestack emittingdense plumes.

Emergency RD tweeted that firefighters rushed to the scene atRefidomsa, just eight miles west of the capital, and are keeping the blazeunder control.

PDV Refidomsa CEO Felix Jimenez said a leak caused the blast,but the dispatch of fuel continues normally.
