Santo Domingo.- President Danilo Medina on Tuesday reshuffledhis cabinet, with some surprises, such as pro-government party (PRD) presidentMiguel Vargas, designated Foreign Minister.
He designated Carlos Amarante in Interior and Police;Donald Guerrero, as Finances; Temistocles Montas, Industry and Commerce; AndrésNavarro in Education; and Ruben Paulino in Defense; and William Muñoz in Immigration.
Alejandrina Germán in Higher Education; José Ramón Fadul inLabor; Janet Camilo in Women; Pedro Verges in Culture; Ruben Jimenez wasratified as vice president of the Dominican Corporation of State-owned ElectricUtility (CDEEE) and Simon Lizardo in the State-owoned Reservas Bank.
Enrique Ramirez in Customs; José del Castillo Saviñón inthe Telecom Institute (Indotel); Felix Edmundo Pimentel in the National DrugsControl Agency (DNCD), and Julio Cesar Souffront as Inspector General of theArmed Forces.
Braulio Alvarez was designated Army Commander and MiguelEnrique Peña, Navy Commander, among other changes.
