Santo Domingo.- The National District 2nd AppellateCourt on Thursday upheld the 35-year conviction for terrorism against FrankeliHolguin Medina, who set fire to a Metro train full of passengers.
Under appeal the court ruled that the indictment was wellfounded and the facts and the evidence were correctly evaluated.
Last March National District Panel Court judge Pilar Rufinosentenced Holguin to 35 years in prison on a conviction of terrorism and attemptedmurder, for setting fire to a car of Metro line 2.
Holguin, who is serving time at San Pedro prison, becamethe first Dominican to be convicted with a sentence of more than 30 years.
