Low pressure system brings downpours

Santo Domingo.- An active tropical wave in the EasternCaribbean associated with a low pressure system will bring downpours Wednesday,the National Weather Office (Onamet) forecast today.

It said the showers associated with this tropical wave willstart in the eastern part of the country this afternoon and spread gradually toother regions, continuing overnight.

“By Thursday, the tropical wave is expected to maintain itslow pressure center in waters very close to the North Atlantic, however, cloudfields associated with it will bring moderate to strong downpours across the country,”Onamet said.
